Last week, we looked at the many ways to handle a 404 error on your site. The inevitable question is: what type is the most common?
We reviewed the top 50 sites on the net (according to Alexa). The result?
The majority of the top 50 sites (42 of the ones we reviewed) use a standard 404 error on their site's not found error page.
The remaining redirect a broken page, which hides the broken URL from the visitor. If you'd like to know which of the top 50 redirect, feel free to email us for the details.
